Course Overview

The course starts in Nashua’s Millyard at the Millyard Technology Park, where participants will start all portions of the event.  The ride goes through Hollis and returns to Nashua’s Millyard for Transition 1.  Boaters go into the water there and head west in a loop on the river and back to the millyard  where they switch to the run at Transition 2.  The run is entirely in Mine Falls Park, tracing the river you just paddled – a rather overstated dirt track back to the start.

Course Maps

NOTE:  This is a new course, so if you participated before read carefully.

All legs start and finish at the Millyard Technology Park (10 Technology Way, Nashua, NH).

Bike:   There will be a parade start from Millyard to West Hollis/Riverside Drive.  This is a nice 2.5 mile warm up.  Please stick together – the goal is to get everyone safely to the timed start.  Timed start is at Riverside Drive.

Course follows West Hollis (Route 111) to Depot Road (just after crossing Nashua River).  Turn right on Depot and make the 3 mile climb into Hollis.  Stay right around the farms at Hollis Center and start down Broad Street.  Take a LEFT onto Pine Hill Road (will be police assistance at turn).  Take Pine Hill all the way across the Everitt Turnpike, where it becomes Blue Hill Avenue  (um, not the Blue Hill Ave in Boston.)  Here you will cross Broad Street, turn left, and then take the next right onto the Broad Street Parkway back to the Millyard.  Note: the turn into the Millyard is tight – be sensible!  Follow to back of the Millyard Technology Park where you can rack your bike and head to the kayak.

Total distance: 17 miles.  Timed distance: 14.5 miles.

IMPORTANT:   These roads are open to regular traffic.  We will have police details and volunteers at what we deem to be critical intersections (Broad to Pine Hill, crossing Broad Street).  However, absent express direction from an officer you are expected to comply with all traffic rules.

Paddle:  Launch is at the boat ramp behind the Millyard Technology Park.  Volunteers can assist you launch.  Paddle details in the works, but expect a 2 mile paddle on flat water.  Paddle is an out and back, so you’ll be getting out where you got in, only with serious cramps and an inability to run.  Except you still  have the run.

Paddle Distance: 2.5 miles

Run:  The run starts and ends with a hill.  Leave the boat launch and follow the driveway around to Pine Street Extension – follow down into the park.  At approximately 1 mile in you will hit a water stop where you will be directed right onto a trail that follows the river.  Follow all the way to the end, then turn left.  Go straight at the flag pole and you’ll soon see the water stop/turn.  Keep going straight and back to the Millyard Technology park for a downhill finish.

Run distance: 3.7 miles
