Welcome to the Millyard BPR

Part triathlon (no swimming!), part adventure race (no fire!), the Millyard BPR is a fun but challenging race that starts and ends in Nashua, New Hampshire’s historic Millyard, taking participants through downtown Nashua, beautiful neighboring Hollis, and the peaceful trails of Mine Falls Park.  Individuals and teams will bike through Nashua, use their choice of human powered water transport (kayak, canoe or SUP) to navigate the Nashua River and run along the famed New Hampshire Heritage Trail.  After the race, share some food and drinks with your fellow racers at one of the many great establishments along Main and Canal Streets!

Course Description

The bike.  The entire race is on roads.  During the 2.5 mile parade start you will be escorted through Nashua by the City’s finest.  During this time, we ask that you stay together as a pack or peloton.  Be realistic about your placement and pace.  Expect to do 14.5 miles in 30 minutes?  Feel free to cluster at the front.  More of a 15 mile per hour type, the middle is your place.  10 miles an hour your thing?  No problem, but perhaps the courtesy of starting in the back third.  At the finish racers will enter the first transition area, put the bike on the rack, and either grab your boat or hand off to your teammate.

The boat.  Yep – you choose your boat, but you have to bring it with you!  Participants and teams will be sorted by classification, but remember the overall winner is on time only, so if you’re in it to win it, go with that sleek boat you’ve been tempted by all winter.  On the exit, you can hand carry your boat to a secure resting place or leave it on the water and we’ll move it for you.

The run.  This 3.7 mile off road course through the picturesque Mine Falls Park will take you along the river you just paddled and then back to the start/finish line.  This is a small section of the New Hampshire Heritage Trail which runs 130 miles along the Merrimack River from Massachusetts to Canada!
